CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH THE BRIDGE PROJECT

Friday 5th June was a proud day for everyone at Frontline Bikes as we attended this year's Bridge Project graduation ceremony at the Mansion House.

Since 2023, we've been proud to work alongside Dublin City Council, Community Gardaí, SWAN Regional Youth Service, and St Andrew's Resource Centre to deliver The Bridge Project - a youth intervention programme that brings together young people from different communities across Dublin through the shared experience of building bikes.

At Frontline Bikes, we believe a bicycle can be much more than a way to get from A to B. It can be a tool for learning, confidence, connection, and opportunity. The Bridge Project brings those values to life.

Throughout the programme, participants learn practical bicycle maintenance and bike-building skills, working together to design and build their own bikes from the ground up. Along the way, they develop teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and resilience - skills that extend far beyond the workshop.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the programme is watching young people from different backgrounds come together around a shared goal. As barriers begin to disappear, new friendships are formed, confidence grows, and participants discover strengths they may never have recognised in themselves.

Bridge Project graduation 2026

The graduation ceremony was a fitting celebration of everything they had achieved. Seeing participants proudly receive their certificates from the Lord Mayor, Ray McAdam, while standing beside the bikes they had built with their own hands, was a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when young people are given the opportunity, encouragement, and belief to succeed.

As a social enterprise and training centre, creating opportunities like these is at the heart of what we do. We are proud to play a part in a programme that shows a simple but important truth: a young person's background should never determine their future. With the right support, every young person has the potential to thrive.

Congratulations to every graduate of this year's Bridge Project. Your hard work, creativity, and determination have been inspiring, and we can't wait to see where your journey takes you next.
